Hyundai Motorsport has announced that it will continue its factory World Rally Championship program in 2026. The decision comes after speculation about its future in the championship. The team’s participation in the WRC beyond 2026 remains uncertain due to new technical regulations set for 2027. Hyundai has been part of the WRC since 2014 and recently expanded into the World Endurance Championship under the Genesis brand. The team’s president, Cyril Abiteboul, emphasized the importance of continued development and competitiveness in the Rally1 category. The FIA’s decision to extend Rally1 technical regulations and provide additional homologation jokers has been welcomed by teams, ensuring future upgrades in the championship.
